A portfolio of additives that supports the circular economy in flexible packaging
Designed especially for the bi-orientation process, the new BIAX4CE™ additive range includes antiblock, antistatic, migrating and non-migrating slip, as well as high performance antifog masterbatches to manufacture biaxially-oriented polyethylene (BOPE) films.
BOPE films replace non-polyethylene substrates (BOPET, BOPA, BOPP, CPP) to allow 100% polyethylene in laminated packaging. This boosts the quality of mechanically-recycled material and supports the circular economy.
BOPE also offers greater seal strength, improved packaging seal integrity and better puncture resistance over BOPP in laminated structures. BOPE also has proven superior to PE blown films in down-gauging, higher output and yield, better optics and tighter gauge control. BOPE film can be produced using existing BOPP manufacturing equipment, requiring only an adjustment in processing conditions with no major machinery changes.
